Staff

We are proud of our high ratio of adults to children in the group. This ensures each individual attention to the needs and development of each child.

Key Person System

Our key person system gives each member of staff responsibility for just a few children. Each child in the group has one special adult to relate to, which can make settling into the group very much easier. In addition, the key person is in a position to tailor the group's curriculum to the unique needs of each individual child. The key person maintains links with the child's home setting, working with parents through shared confidential record keeping to ensure that all children are supported in reaching their full potential.

Committee

Scriven Park Preschool is run by a committee. The committee is an important and essential part of the life of the preschool and is made up of parents and volunteers who wish to contribute to the running of the preschool.

The activities of the committee fall into two broad categories; the management of the playgroup and fundraising for the preschool.

Management

The committee meet the preschool manager and staff to review and make decisions about matters such as staffing, health and safety, budgeting, purchasing of new equipment, special events etc.

Fundraising

Preschools receive very little public funding. Scriven Park relies on fees and fundraising to provide a great preschool experience for its children. Fundraising is necessary to provide essentials and those extras such as new equipment, books, toys, staff training, supplies for Christmas, Easter and special project activities. The preschool committee plays a huge role in organising fundraising events such as the Summer Fayre.

Because our children's time at preschool is short, each year the committee needs new members to assist with these tasks, so we rely on the continued involvement of parents and carers in our community to join us in working to support the preschool.

Please join us - you are welcome to come along to a meeting to get to know the existing committee and see what happens, join the committee or just support with the events that we organise throughout the year. If you have any fund-raising ideas please get in touch. We look forward to meeting you!

For the school year 2017-18, the Committee structure is:
